Blanchards Bailey’s commercial success continues upward curve
Blanchards Bailey’s recent additions to the commercial arm of its business reflects the legal firm’s growth in recent years but also a determination to build on progress made.
With a thriving commercial department - made up of Commercial Property, Company Commercial, Litigation and Employment - seeing an upturn of 83% over the past three years and 24% in the last 12 months, the firm is clearly prospering despite an uncertain economic climate.
Tilly Clarke, who joins as a Senior Associate and heads-up the Company Commercial team, is determined to maintain Blanchards Bailey’s upward trajectory using her vast experience of acting for businesses of all sizes across a range of sectors.
Her expertise extends to a wide range of Company Commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions, reorganisations and business sales and purchases as well as shareholder and partnership agreements and joint venture arrangements. She also advises clients in relation to all types of commercial contract, supply chain arrangements and the protection and commercial exploitation of intellectual property.
Tilly is joined by Associate Solicitor Ben Jones, who will further boost the commercial side of the business through his work in the Litigation and Disputes team with his speciality in all aspects of property and company commercial disputes. In his role, Ben will work closely with Paul Dunlop, Head of Litigation and Disputes.
Speaking of the exciting times ahead for Blanchards Bailey and its clients, Tilly said: “I am really pleased to have joined Blanchards Bailey and be part of such an energetic and client-focused firm. The commercial team is made up of talented and dynamic lawyers who provide quality advice of real value to businesses across Dorset.
“Each of us has a wealth of experience in advising businesses and expertise in a number of sectors including agriculture and food and drink. We understand the pressures and opportunities that businesses in the county face; not least because Blanchards Bailey is itself a growing Dorset business.”
Commenting on the new appointments and the growing commercial side of the business, Sarah Heath, Head of Commercial Services, said: “As the figures suggest, the commercial side of the business is growing fast and so the new appointments are to both ensure we respond to that growth but also to build on it. Both Ben and Tilly are active in the business community and so complement the excellent reputation of the existing commercial team.”
Sarah added: “We are delighted to welcome both Tilly and Ben to Blanchards Bailey. They bring a wealth of experience and will assist us as we move forward with our sustained growth and help us to continue delivering for our clients. These are very exciting times for the firm and these appointments show that we do not stand still and always look to improve.”
