What’s your area of expertise?
Working in the Family Department of Blanchards Bailey’s Blandford office, I am a Legal Assistant. My role includes supporting the Head of Department and fee earners with their work in all areas of matrimonial and children matters, by producing documentation, liaising on the telephone and in person with clients, the Court, and other agencies and parties, to make sure that all work is carried out as efficiently and effectively as possible. Prior to working for Blanchards Bailey, I worked in Oxford for a specialist family law firm and a Tribunal Judge and, after moving to Dorset in 2001 and having a break from working in the Legal Profession, I went back to working in family law in 2011. I joined the team at Blanchards Bailey LLP in March 2017.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
All elements of my job are really interesting, and I particularly like the fact that every client’s situation is different. I also like the interaction with clients and being able to support them when they are going through what could be one of the most difficult and stressful times of their life.
What makes you tick?
As a very organised person, I thrive when I am busy and always strive to do the very best that I can for my work colleagues and our clients. Family Law can be complex, often with tight timescales, and by being organised and able to work under pressure, I always ensure I do everything possible to help progress matters as smoothly as possible. When I am not in work I have a passion for cooking, particularly curries and other savoury meals (however I am hopeless at baking cakes). I also enjoy time with my family and am learning French, Italian and Spanish.
