Blanchards Bailey recognised and recommended in The Legal 500 2018/19

Award-winning Dorset law firm Blanchards Bailey LLP has been recognised more than ever before by the UK's leading law sector directory, the Legal 500.

The latest edition of the annual publication, The Legal 500 2018/19, mentions the firm in a record seven categories with eleven individual lawyers recommended, the most ever received.

These impressive results make expanding Blanchards Bailey, which has offices in Blandford, Dorchester, Shaftesbury and Weymouth one of the top firms in the UK for the fourth year running.

Blanchards Bailey are also in the top three of Dorset legal firms for the number of categories in which recommendations were given.

The Legal 500 is an independent guide to law firms in the UK, based on in-depth market research, positive client feedback and interviews with lawyers, solicitors and barristers.

Blanchards Bailey has been recognised in three new categories – Commercial Property, Contentious Trust & Probate and Family – as well as maintaining its rankings for Agriculture & Estates, Commercial Litigation, Employment and Personal Tax, Trusts & Probate categories.

For the first time all five Partners, Alan Horne, Jerome Dodge, Sarah Heath, Paul Dunlop and Ian Campbell received individual recognition.

Colleagues Edward O’Brien, Lucy Mignot, Ben Jones, Carla Phillips, Clare Cherry and Laura Martin were also recommended.

The Legal 500 says the Employment team offers ‘excellent overall level of service’ with ‘quick response times and invaluable advice’ while in Commercial Litigation clients will be ‘dealing with individual professionals and not just a large faceless firm’.

The guide notes that the Family team at Blanchards Bailey LLP is ‘very compassionate’, providing ‘excellent and tailored’ legal advice. The Personal Tax, Trusts & Probate team is ‘extremely professional' with ‘friendly and personal communication skills’.

Partner and Head of Commercial Services Sarah Heath said: “Our ethos is very much about team work and we were particularly pleased to be collectively recommended across so many key practice areas.

“It is testament to the dedication, hard work, skill and commitment of everyone at Blanchards Bailey that we have achieved such a high ranking.

“Our results show we are exceptional at offering legal advice of the highest quality here in Dorset and that we are also on an equal footing with national and international firms.

“Our client retention rate is also excellent, surely indicative of the exceptional service we offer.

“We also continue to attract top lawyers from other leading law firms as well as maintaining our policy of developing our own top talent.”

Eighty-strong Blanchards Bailey, headquartered in Blandford, has shown particularly strong growth over the past five years of 10 per cent a year, helping fulfil its aim to be the firm of choice in rural Dorset.

The firm scooped the coveted Dispute Resolution Team and Private Client Team titles at the 2018 Dorset Legal Awards, also receiving a special commendation for Company Commercial Team of the year and was nominated as finalist in a record seven categories, more than any other firm.
