Blanchards Bailey's Summer Fundraising Mission in Support of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance

At Blanchards Bailey, community runs in our blood, and sometimes, so do we! This July, we're proud to be supporting Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance through not one but two charity fundraising events, combining teamwork, laughter, and a great cause that’s close to our hearts.

Taking Flight with the Twilight 5K: 5 July 2025

On the evening of Saturday 5 July, members of the firm will lace up their running shoes for the Twilight 5K Run at Henstridge Field, a key fundraiser for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.  The event is open to runners, walkers, and four-legged friends alike, with a shared goal to support the life-saving work of the Air Ambulance crew, who provide critical care when every second counts.

We’re proud to be running as a team to show our support for this essential emergency service, and raising donations that go directly towards keeping the air ambulance flying.

Jail or Bail: 10 July 2025

Just five days later, our very own Managing Partner Paul Dunlop will be (willingly!) "locked up" in Shepton Mallet Prison for a fantastic cause in the Jail or Bail fundraising challenge on Thursday, 10 July. This brilliant event sees local business leaders "arrested" for fictional crimes and tasked with raising £800 in "bail" to earn their release.

Paul's (entirely made-up!) crime? Possibly caring too much about our fundraising, and we think that's worth every penny!  He will be detained at Shepton Mallet Prison for 15 hours overnight, trying to raise bail through donations from clients, colleagues and contacts - all in the name of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Fundraising will begin at 12 pm on 10 July through Paul's JustGiving sponsorship page link, which we will share on social media shortly.  We greatly appreciate any contribution you can make.

Paul will be shouting for help on Instagram on 10 July and we'll be resharing his posts throughout the night!  Follow his journey (and his cries for bail money!) on our InstagramLinkedIn and Facebook accounts as the clock ticks down.

Let's help Paul get out of jail... not for free, but definitely for a very good cause!

Why It Matters

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance relies on the generosity of the public to stay operational.  Every mission costs approximately £3,500, and their services receive no direct government funding.  Supporting these events means helping to save lives across our counties: on farms, coastal paths, motorways and everywhere in between.

At Blanchards Bailey, we believe legal professionals should lead with integrity and passion, not just expertise.  These events allow us to step out of the office and into our community, doing what we can to support the people who support us all when it matters most.
