Celebrating Success at Blanchards Bailey LLP: Awards and Recognition

It has been a busy time at Blanchards Bailey over the last few weeks! With shortlisting in multiple national and international awards categories and recent successes in the latest Legal 500 directory, we are excited to share a few recent achievements that underscore our commitment to excellence and client service.

Investors in People Awards:

Blanchards Bailey LLP was shortlisted for two awards at the Investors in People Awards in London. With the firm being shortlisted for The Award for Leadership and Management and The Award for UK Employer of the Year (Accredited – up to 249 employees), the recognition by Investors in People is a testament to our ongoing commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace. Attended by Ben Jones (Partner – Litigation and Disputes), Paul Dunlop (Managing Partner), and Jane Cordner (HR and operations Manager), the event brought together global companies from the UK, Brazil, The Philippine, Dubai and Australia including Coca-Cola and British Airways.

LEAP Modern Law Conveyancing Awards:

We are thrilled to share that Blanchards Bailey LLP received three nominations in the LEAP Modern Law Conveyancing Awards. Claudia Roper was shortlisted for "Rising Star of the Year," Sophie Netherway for "Employee of the Year," and our Managing Partner, Paul Dunlop, for "Managing Partner of the Year." The awards evening in Liverpool was attended by all our shortlisted team along with Caroline Walton (Partner – Head of Residential Property). It was a wonderful evening, made all the more special by Paul Dunlop's achievement of being "Highly Commended" further showcasing his exceptional leadership.

A huge congratulations to Paul, Sophie and Claudia along with all the winners and nominees. It is always an honour to be nominated for an award. Receiving this recognition is a testament to their hard work and dedication and that of their wider support teams.

Legal 500 Directory Rankings:

In the newly released Legal 500 Directory, Blanchards Bailey LLP has been recognized in seven service areas, confirming our legal expertise. Thirteen of our lawyers have received personal mentions in the directory, reflecting our commitment to delivering exceptional legal services across various practice areas.

Our Agriculture and Estates team is now ranked Tier 2 alongside a number of prominent national firms. With the team described by the directory as “approachable, professional and proactive”, Paul Dunlop, Jerome Dodge, Lucy Mignot, and Sarah Dunlop are specifically recognised. Sarah is praised by the directory as being “always very helpful and … very good at supporting clients through difficult transactions. Sarah … builds rapport very quickly, putting clients’ minds at ease.”

The “personable, professional and approachable” Commercial Litigation team is ranked Tier 3 with Paul Dunlop; Ben Jones; Lucy Mignot specifically mentioned. Ben is recognised as being “…knowledgeable and professional. A good communicator and adviser… [being] experienced and knowledgeable about the construction industry.”

Our HR and Employment team is ranked Tier 3 with Stephen Woodman being “incredibly supportive with my case and …very understanding” and Jane Cordner praised as “easily the most approachable, helpful, considerate” HR advisor clients have dealt with.

Our Tier 3 ranked Contentious Trusts and Probate team, was recognised as being “A team of contentious trusts and probate lawyers who have genuine expertise and strength in depth.’ Paul Dunlop, Ben Jones and Lucy Mignot are mentioned with Lucy being described as ‘Lucy Mignot is a fantastic lawyer who is great with clients and attracts superb work.’ Lucy was also ranked as a Next Generation Partner in the directory for her work in the sector.

Lauded as an ‘impressively modern, highly skilled, diverse team', our Private Client team was ranked at Tier 3 with Jerome Dodge, Catherine Roberts, Sophie Lawrence and Emma Needham specifically mentioned. Jerome Dodge’s “expertise, ability to delegate to highly qualified and skilled individuals” was praised as “impressive over the years.”

The firm’s Commercial Property team was ranked Tier 3 with Sarah Dunlop and Robin Cole being singled out for mentions. The directory notes Robin as ‘a highly experienced lawyer.’

Blanchards Bailey’s Family Law team are ranked Tier 4 and recognised for their specialism in dealing with pensions, and army pensions in particular as well as practice head Laura Martin being noted for her work on complex financial disputes involving multi-million-pound businesses. Laura and her team are praised as being ‘outstanding and brilliant on a professional level, [and] …helpful on a personal level” Julie Keogh is also mentioned as being “excellent” with a “caring and reassuring manner”.
