Community Support Helps Raise More Than £5,000 for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance

At Blanchards Bailey, we're proud to celebrate the generosity and community spirit in support of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA).

Thanks to the incredible support of donors, clients and event visitors, we’re delighted to announce that £5,384.09 has been raised over the past year through a series of charitable events, including the DSAA's 'Jail or Bail' fundraising campaign, which saw local CEO's 'imprisoned' in Shepton Mallet Prison for a night; the summer Twilight 5K run, and the popular Blanchards Bailey's Barrow of Booze Raffle, held at Dorset County Show and Dorset Cultivation Event.

Supporting a Service That Saves Lives

The DSAA provides life-saving pre-hospital critical care to people across our region, operating 19 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Each mission costs around  £3,500, and with no direct government funding, the organisation depends entirely on donations and fundraising efforts to keep the service flying.

With its 2nd Heli Appeal campaignDSAA highlights how every contribution brings this life-saving service to those who need it most.

“Supporting Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance has been an important and natural extension of our commitment to the communities we serve. Their life-saving work touches families across our region, often at the most difficult moments, and we are proud that our fundraising efforts, together with the generosity of our clients and friends, will help DSAA continue providing this vital service,” said Paul Dunlop, Managing Partner, Blanchards Bailey LLP.

Erika Singh, Corporate Partnerships Lead, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance said: "We are incredibly grateful to Blanchards Bailey for choosing Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance as their 2025 Charity of the Year. The team truly embraced the partnership and raised an amazing £5,384 with a whole host of creative fundraising activities. From taking part in our Twilight 5K, to hosting a Brew for the Crew coffee morning, dress-down days and even bravely locking up their Managing Partner in Shepton Mallet prison for our Jail or Bail event, the team went above and beyond to support our charity.  Thank you to everyone at Blanchards Bailey for helping us save lives across Dorset and Somerset."

A Sincere Thank You

On behalf of everyone at Blanchards Bailey, we're truly grateful for your generous donations and enthusiasm for this essential and valuable cause.  While our formal 12-month partnership with DSAA is coming to a close, our support for this incredible cause is ongoing.  With your continued support, we're excited to keep championing local causes and making a positive difference across our community in the year ahead.

As the busiest air ambulance in the Southwest, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance responds to thousands of life-saving missions every year. With no direct government funding, every mission is funded by the generosity of the public and our corporate partners like Blanchards Bailey. Without this kind of support, our service simply wouldn’t exist.

Congratulations to Mr Chambers on Winning the Barrow of Booze

We also extend our congratulations to Mr John Chambers, winner of the Barrow of Booze Raffle. He took home a pair of tickets for the Palmers Brewery tour, and a fully stocked wheelbarrow filled with a wide selection of wines, spirits and other alcoholic beverages generously donated and sure to be enjoyed. Mrs Chamber received the prize earlier at our Blandford office on his behalf.

Huge thanks to Badger Beers/H&W, Black Cow Vodka, Black Ven Distillery, Dorset Nectar Cider, Fordington Gin, Hall & Woodhouse, Minster Gin, Mure Liqueurs, Palmers Brewery, Shroton Fair Vodka, Tack Room Distillery, V Rum and Wyrd Gin for their support.
