Experience and credentials
Nicola joined Blanchards Bailey in 2025 as a litigation specialist, with a practice focused on contentious probate, property and trust disputes. Since starting her legal career in 2013, Nicola has specialised exclusively in litigation, bringing depth of experience in assessing the strengths and weaknesses of cases, devising strategies, case preparation and resolution.
Nicola is a full member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), reflecting her substantial post-qualification experience in this area. She is also a member of the Contentious Trust Association (ConTra).
She reports directly to Lucy Mignot, Partner and Head of Contentious Trusts and Probate.
Working with Nicola
Nicola takes time to get to know her clients and their unique needs, analysing each matter objectively and providing clear, practical guidance at every stage. She values the fact that no two disputes are the same. Her work may involve detailed investigation and early case analysis, often with a focused attempt to resolve matters through early alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods, such as mediation or arbitration, or, where necessary, progressing a case through the court process.
Her approach is shaped by each client’s objectives, the issue in dispute and the stance taken by the opposing party. Where a collaborative or conciliatory route is appropriate, Nicola will pursue it pragmatically to achieve her clients’ outcomes. Where a more robust approach is required, she will act decisively to protect her client’s interests.
